Galloni’s Opinion

I have often emphasised how profoundly different these wines can be from one another, an aspect that I particularly enjoy and that I always look for in single-vineyard wines. Barrel number two is a perfect example of this because it retains the gravitas and depth of the historic vines, but with a tannin profile that is markedly different from that of barrel number one. Here the wine shows more robe, sensuality, and brighter fruit tones. Notes of blood orange and white pepper emerge, lending a beautiful aromatic lift and great intensity. In this tasting I find greater textural smoothness; the wine already shows itself to be extraordinarily complete, harmonious, and decidedly delicious.

Fondazione Ospedale Cuneo ETS was established in 2019 to ensure the continuity of an important legacy in the Cuneo area, supporting the activities and outstanding projects of the Santa Croce e Carle Hospital, the provincial reference centre for highly specialised care.

Acquisition of a headspace injection system for gas chromatography, combined with a filter integrity testing instrument.

Nuclear Medicine represents a vital frontier in the early diagnosis and monitoring of tumours through PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scans. Radiopharmaceuticals – specialised substances of the highest precision – are used to carry out these life-saving tests; due to their extremely rapid chemical decay, they must be prepared and tested on site immediately before the scan. The new equipment simultaneously operates on two complementary aspects of medical safety: on the one hand, the headspace injection system for gas chromatography enables immediate verification of the chemical purity of radiopharmaceuticals, ruling out any residues or impurities prior to administration; on the other, an automated test simultaneously verifies the integrity of the sterilisation filters, ensuring the highest standards of sanitary safety for every dose.

Expected benefits:
• faster and more efficient quality controls;
• the potential to increase the number of daily PET scans;
• faster responses for cancer patients;
• greater autonomy for the hospital department from external suppliers of medicines with rapid chemical decay, leading to a reduction in waste.

In summary: a project with a significant social impact on the local area and an investment in the medical safety of cancer diagnostics.
