Barrique number fifteen is the last lot produced entirely from a single micro-zone. With this tasting, we return to a profile dominated by a broad aromatic expression, energy and tension. This is not a wine that relies on high extract or opulence, but a Barolo built on rigorous linear intensity, where acidity and the tannic backbone set the rhythm of the palate, bringing dynamism at the expense of weight. This slender architecture is highly appealing: it will need a couple of years in the cellar to come together, but the freshness of its bright red fruit beautifully complements the classic and vibrant expression of young Nebbiolo. The finish is airy, elegant and remarkably persistent.

Mother’s Choice is a charity established in Hong Kong in 1987 to support children without families and pregnant adolescents.

In 1986, a series of newspaper articles reported on the alarming number of teenage pregnancies in Hong Kong. This prompted Gary and Helen Stephens and Ranjan and Phyllis Marwah to set up Mother’s Choice. With their dedication to service, love for the city of Hong Kong, and the support of many in the community, they opened the doors to Mother’s Choice in 1987. Their passion for providing loving, non-judgmental support to the many pregnant teenagers who had no one to turn to has grown to encompass the provision of educational care for children without families and serve as a voice of support for them. The vision of Mother’s Choice is bold, but by working together it can be achieved.
