Barrel number one presents a very powerful but perfectly balanced wine with a dark fruit profile that fully expresses the gravitas of the terroir. This is, of course, a young Barolo still in barrel, so the acidity and the tannic structure are still very much in evidence and will need to integrate over time, but there is a beautiful energy in this wine. The depth and gravitas characteristic of these historic vines are clearly evident.
