The Territory

Although from the administrative point of view it makes history in itself, Alba and in particular the part of San Rocco Seno d’Elvio can be considered in all respects as an extension of the municipality of Treiso with which it shares some MGAs, among which the most renowned is Rizzi.

Neive is the largest municipality of the Barbaresco denomination and a larger municipal area translates into a greater vineyard area. In this municipality, there is no shortage of areas of consolidated tradition: Albesani, Cottà among the first to have been vinified as single varieties.

Treiso has an extension not much larger than the municipality of Barbaresco, with over 35% of production dedicated to Nebbiolo. The historical crus of Treiso are located right on the border with the municipality of Barbaresco and some of them, such as the MGA Rizzi, are already mentioned in the monograph by Lorenzo Fantini.
