Barrique number three also comes from the historic old vines. What I love most deeply about this wine is its extraordinary aromatic impact: an absolutely classic and distinctive signature of Nebbiolo. It offers bright red small-fruit notes, citrus nuances, white pepper and an incredible floral character. This is almost like walking into a flower shop, surrounded by an explosion of rose petals and lavender. It is an intense and exotic aromatic profile which encompasses everything I look for in a young Barolo. On the palate, the tannins are of the finest grain, and the development is extraordinarily precise. It is one of the barriques that excites me most because it already shows a splendid embryonic balance and a magnificent robe. I truly hope to have the opportunity to taste it again from the bottle in a few years.
