Barrique nr. 3
Auction Base – Barrique nr. 3
Galloni’s Opinion
Let’s check out wine number three from the historic Old Vines. Really interesting to taste this after barrique number two. Whereas barrique number two has a slightly little bit more forward expression of fruit, here there’s a little bit more earthiness, savouriness, a little bit more sort of leather, cedar, dried herbs, flowers. It’s a really complex wine, maybe not quite as immediate as wine number two, but we are talking about young Barolo from barrique here, after all. This wine has just really beautiful complexity and a lot of different shades of nuance to explore. Of course, we’ll know more when the wine is in bottle, but right now this is shaping up really nicely.
