Wine number four is the last wine in this flight of the four wines from the historic old vines. And as a reminder, that’s a vine-by-vine selection from mid slope parcels throughout the entire vineyard. Literally a vine-by-vine selection harvested and vinified apart. What’s interesting to me about wine number four is its kind of a bookend to wine number one. Whereas the two and three barrels are a little bit richer and more filled out in the middle, wine number four is more closely linked to wine number one, a little bit lighter, more aromatic, more ethereal expression of Nebbiolo. I tasted these wines a few minutes earlier before we shot this. Now, with a little bit of air, the wine gains a little bit of body, but it still has that nervousness and that energy, again, and a really ethereal and driven expression of young Nebbiolo.
