Galloni’s Opinion

Remaining on the south-facing slope, barrel number ten brings us back to what could be described as a much more classic expression of Nebbiolo and Barolo. We find more vibrant acidity and fruit shifting towards redder, crunchier tones, accompanied by notes of blood orange, white pepper, chalk and mint: all descriptors that bring brightness and verticality to the wine’s upper registers. This is an ideal tasting for lovers of traditional, uncompromising Barolo. The tannins are sinewy, taut and dynamic; this is a wine driven by energy and freshness. It may be less immediate than some of the other wines from the 2025 vintage, but it will appeal to those who seek vibrant tension in young Nebbiolo.

The project

fondazione sandretto re rebaudengo

The Education Department of Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo designs and delivers activities for schools, young people, adults, teachers, families and people with disabilities.

Tracce d’arte: an educational project aimed at primary schools in the Guarene area, designed to promote contemporary culture and raise awareness among children and their families around the importance of caring for heritage and protecting the environment.

In 2019, Fondazione Sandretto opened the San Licerio Hill Art Park to the public, a site that is enriched every year with new site-specific sculptures. The project centres on the park’s installations offering ten primary school classes from Guarene and Vaccheria the opportunity to take part in a workshop programme designed to introduce the children to contemporary art and culminating in a final exhibition at Palazzo Re Rebaudengo. The programme is based on three key elements: art, reading and play. The overall aim of the project is to promote the protection and responsible enjoyment of the local area through contemporary art, while respecting the landscape, the environment as a whole, and culture. The active involvement of young visitors and children aims to strengthen ties with the community and encourage civic participation in cultural life. The educational programme will end with an exhibition at Palazzo Re Rebaudengo in Guarene to showcase the work carried out in schools and share it with the local community. The museum fulfils its primary function as a cultural, educational and social presence fostering intergenerational exchange.
