The Territory

A natural extension to the south of the municipality of Barolo, Novello is characterized by a limited number of MGAs that faithfully represent the territory and its differences. Among the best known MGAs are Ravera and Sottocastello di Novello, which today are also the most represented in terms of Barolo labels.

Roddi has only one MGA, Bricco Ambrogio, which enjoys a splendid reputation. The Barolo obtained has usually more substance and warmth and this can be explained by the different geology, which here sees the Marne di Sant’Agata Fossili prevail in their typical form.

Verduno can be seen as the northward extension of the ridge of La Morra. It is characterized by the solitary charm of its historic center and the unique character of some of its MGAs, first of all, Monvigliero which represents the most complete expression of the Barolo produced in this municipality.
