The Augusto Rancilio Foundation is a non-profit cultural organisation dedicated to study and research in the fields of architecture, design and urban planning, with particular attention to young people and their integration into the world of work.

Continuation of project for the restoration and valorisation of the historic Villa Arconati.

For years, ARF has been operating by promoting cultural initiatives, national and international relations and links, as well as the important project for the restoration of the Villa Arconati, institutional headquarters of the Foundation, and its garden. Its objective is not only to restore this heritage to the community, but to valorise today, in a contemporary and international perspective, its identity as a place of Architecture and the Arts, which in the past was known as the “Versailles of Milan”. The restoration works continue with the aim of giving new life to forgotten areas of the Villa, including the Cantinone, a place of particular charm, unchanged over the centuries, which after the renovation will be open to the public and will host cultural activities and events promoting food and wine for the benefit of an area that is very committed to such matters.

Mother’s Choice is a charity established in Hong Kong in 1987 to support children without families and pregnant adolescents.

Support project for pregnant teenagers in Hong Kong.

In 1986, a series of newspaper articles reported on the alarming number of teenage pregnancies in Hong Kong. This prompted Gary and Helen Stephens and Ranjan and Phyllis Marwah to set up Mother’s Choice. With their hearts devoted to service, love for the city of Hong Kong and the support of many in the community, they opened the doors to Mother’s Choice in 1987. The passion to provide loving, non-judgmental support to the many pregnant teenagers who had no one to turn to has been broadened to provide educational care for children without families and to be a voice of help for them. The vision of Mother’s Choice is bold, but by working together it can be achieved.

On 6 October 2012, four boys with a disability took to a football pitch in Turin for the first ever Scuola Calcio Total Sport training session. By the end of the season, those four boys had become twenty-five footballers who, with their example, strength and determination, inspired the name of the club: INSUPERABILI.

In thirteen years, eighteen locations have been opened across Italy and today more than 850 boys and girls wear the blue and white football strip. To achieve this goal, Insuperabili has created a unique, highly specialised team of sports coaches, educators and psychologists. These professionals work directly on the pitch during training sessions and matches, organising the work into groups to get the best out of every single player. The Insuperabili Method promotes physical and psychological growth and improves the quality of life of the players and their families. A fundamental principle lies at the heart of everything: the person comes before the player. For this reason, particular attention is paid to training, which encompasses multiple areas, sporting, psychological, educational and managerial, offering a holistic vision of the player and ensuring the coaches are fully prepared. The goal is to make training accessible and usable to coaches, psychologists, educators, families and experts in the sector who, although not part of the Insuperabili world, want to expand their skills in the sport. With the slogan “Giocando, andiamo oltre” [Playing takes us further], Insuperabili shows how football can become a way to overcome prejudice and barriers. But its battle doesn’t end on the pitch, it continues in Italy’s schools, where it teaches and inspires the new generations, and in the workplace, where it is committed to building a more open and inclusive future.

The China-Italy Philanthropy Forum is a cross-cultural dialogue and action research platform dedicated to fostering collaboration between European and Chinese philanthropic organizations. Its goal is to promote joint initiatives in the fields of environmental protection, sustainability, education, the empowerment of women and youth, and the development of intergenerational philanthropy.

It is also a project aimed at co-creating training programs in Italy and across Europe for the new generations of Chinese philanthropists and managers of philanthropic organizations.

The China-Italy Philanthropy Forum promotes mutual understanding and trust between European and Chinese philanthropic actors through dialogue and concrete forms of collaboration in humanitarian assistance, education, environmental protection, social inclusion, and intergenerational philanthropy. Established in 2019 on the initiative of the TOChina Hub at the University of Turin and coordinated by the Torino World Affairs Institute (T.wai), the Forum today stands as one of the world’s most advanced non-governmental experiences of philanthropic cooperation with China. In November 2024 its founding agreement was renewed in Beijing in the presence of President Sergio Mattarella, during his State Visit to China – a testament to the strength and institutional significance of the path undertaken. The Forum’s mission is to build trust-based relationships and co-create shared projects between European and Chinese foundations committed to long-term, sustainable collaboration in philanthropy, with the aim of promoting human development in Europe, in China, and in regions most exposed to humanitarian crises. Among its key achievements is the establishment, in 2025, of the China-Europe Philanthropy Innovation Research Centre at Peking University, a center of excellence dedicated to advancing philanthropic collaboration with Europe. Among its forthcoming initiatives is an innovative training program in Italy and Europe for the new generations of Chinese and European philanthropists – a unique opportunity to foster creative synergies among actors essential to the resilience and sustainable growth of societies that, while different, share the responsibility of addressing global challenges together.

Maggie Foundation Italia supports young Chinese people abroad with rare diseases, including autism spectrum disorders, providing educational, psychological and healthcare support, improving their quality of life.

“Maybe a dragon will be born” is the first large-scale cultural inclusion project in Italy and a joint initiative between the Pinacoteca di Brera, the non-profit organisation “L’abilità Onlus” and the social enterprise “I Bambini delle Fate”, with the full support of Maggie Foundation Italia. The foundation has always been committed to promoting programmes in support of people with autism, promoting their physical and mental well-being, as well as social inclusion. With support in the form of medical advice and early screening, psychological rehabilitation, education and professional training, services for families and fund-raising, this programme focuses not only on emancipation for people with autism, but also emphasises support for families and social inclusion, helping create a more caring and sensitive community environment. As a public welfare organisation that focuses on social equity and the development of art and culture, for the autism support project in particular, Maggie Foundation Italia provides financial support for:
– art workshops throughout the year: providing creative materials and professional guidance for children with autism;
– a public awareness campaign;
– improvement of accessibility at art venues: personalised guided tours, creation of sensory interaction areas and reducing physical and cognitive barriers.
